{"id":788,"date":"2020-11-11T09:57:47","date_gmt":"2020-11-11T15:57:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/leadershipfortworth.org\/staging\/?p=788"},"modified":"2022-06-17T01:27:59","modified_gmt":"2022-06-17T07:27:59","slug":"leaderkids-class-summary","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/leadershipfortworth.org\/staging\/news\/leaderkids-class-summary","title":{"rendered":"LeaderKids Class Summary"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><i>LEADERKIDS IS AN OPERATING PROGRAM OF LEADERSHIP FORT WORTH IN PARTNERSHIP WITH FWISD AND THE TCU LEADERSHIP CENTER<\/i><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Two 8th grade students are selected from each of the FWISD middle school campuses through an interview process, in collaboration with intervention specialists<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><i>OUR SUPPORT TEAM<\/i><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">20 \u2013 22 TCU Student Mentors work closely with our LeaderKids<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><i>OTHER VOLUNTEERS<\/i><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">10 \u2013 12 Active Adult Mentors who are Leadership Fort Worth members work with the program<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">40 \u2013 50 LFW members have volunteered over our 22 years of existence<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><i>WE USE THE \u20185 LEADERSHIP PRACTICES CURRICULUM\u2019 OF KOUZES &amp; POSNER TO HELP US WITH TEACHING LEADERSHIP SKILLS<\/i><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Practices are:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Model the Way<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Inspire a Shared Vision<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Challenge the Process<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Enable Others to Act<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Encourage the Heart<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We introduce the 5 leadership practices and implement them through focused games\/activities followed by discussion to demonstrate what was learned.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><i>WE USE THE \u20185 LEADERSHIP PRACTICES CURRICULUM\u2019 OF KOUZES &amp;
