Leadership Fort Worth Welcomes New Board Members

Fort Worth, TX – Leadership Fort Worth is pleased to welcome three new members to the Board of Directors for the 2021-2022 year. 

Leadership Fort Worth’s Board President Ramon Guajardo, Jr. said, “It is exciting to welcome our newest board members – Ebony and Anthony, who recently graduated from our 2021 LeadershipClass, and Devin, who is a 2016 LeadingEdge graduate and represents one of our founding organizations, Junior League Fort Worth. I look forward to partnering with them to create a community where everyone has the opportunity to be a leader and to serve the greater good.” 

Ebony Jones is a Fort Worth native who is an entrepreneurial servant with a proven record of achieving results that are relevant to the communities she serves. She is passionate about developing community assets and intentional about earning the trust of community stakeholders and supporters. 

With over fifteen years working in education and non-profit, she has fortified the art of successfully teaching and leading. She has been responsible for auditing and restructuring school instructional programming, infusing innovative practices to result in exemplary campus turnaround results. Ebony is highly motivated with a strong commitment to delivering quality results. 

She currently acts as the Managing Director, Fort Worth Strategy for Teach for America Dallas-Fort Worth, where she will continue to build upon an already thriving local movement for educational equity. She maximizes the impact of the TFA network and works with a broad set of community leaders to ensure Teach for America Dallas-Fort Worth makes the greatest impact possible. She is responsible for identifying new prospects with the interest and capacity to support educational equity at a significant level, as well as building relationships with supporters and within our network to maximize financial support. 

Anthony Placencio has over 15 years of experience in public accounting. In addition to a rotation in a Big Four firm’s National Office, he has served both SEC registrants and private companies in various industries, including health care, life sciences, and technology. Anthony is currently the Fort Worth Audit Leader and North Texas Health Care Audit Leader for RSM US LLP. 

In addition to Leadership Fort Worth, Anthony currently serves on the BoardBuild Board as well as the Accounting Advisory Board for Texas Christian University, MJ Neeley School of Business. He is a member of Leadership Fort Worth’s 2021 LeadershipClass. 

Anthony graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting, Finance and Economics. He earned his Certified Public Accountant license in 2008.   

Devin Sanders joined Tarrant County and Commissioner Gary Fickes’ Office in 2012. She has a passion for creating meaningful relationships between Tarrant County government, community stakeholders, local municipalities, and area citizens. Devin leads all community outreach efforts for Commissioner Fickes’ and serves as a liaison between Tarrant County and numerous community partners.

She works with Tarrant County and the County’s cities to enhance their ability to provide services and resources that will continue to fit the changing needs of the citizens. Devin also oversees the Tarrant Transportation Summit, which is the largest transportation conference of its kind in our area. 

Prior to joining Tarrant County, she worked in government affairs and administration for a six-county electric co-op in Central Texas. Devin is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a BA in Political Science and received her Master of Public Administration from the University of Texas at Arlington. She is passionate about volunteering and is on the boards or committees of many area volunteer organizations, including Camp Fire First Texas, The Cliburn, Mayfest, Northeast Leadership Forum, and Mental Health Connection of Tarrant County. Devin recently completed her term as Communications Vice President for the Junior League of Fort Worth and is a 2016 graduate of Leadership Fort Worth’s LeadingEdge program.
